Leon Goretzka opens up about Leroy Sane as new reports suggest that the latter’s move to Bayern Munich could happen in summer.
Bayern Munich seems to have stepped up their pursuit of Leroy Sane. The defending Bundesliga champions have reportedly agreed to a contract with the German winger. Die Roten now needs to start negotiations with Manchester City to conclude the deal when the summer transfer window opens.
The Athletic UK (subscription needed) reported last week that Rekordmeister is confident that Sane is committed to completing this move. This report insisted that Sane’s family is eager to move back to Germany, so City currently has very little chance of convincing him to stay in Manchester.
Die Roten will be looking to leverage Sane’s contractual situation at City to sign him for a lesser fee this year. The German club would have paid over the odds last summer. Sane only has one year left on his contract, so Rekordmeister can end up signing him for a bargain price.
Sane will be a big signing for the club, adding the stardust to the attack. Leon Goretzka was excited about playing with him last season. Speaking to Welt am Sonntag (via Sportbuzzer), the German midfielder once again expressed his wish to play with the winger. Goretzka also insisted that Sane has the right mentality to win trophies.
