Tottenham are working on a deal to prise midfield sensation Taylor Booth from Bayern Munich this summer, Football Insider reveal.
The Premier League big guns have been alerted to the potential of the 18-year-old American and are keen to entice him to north London.
Booth has blown away Tottenham talent spotters who have seen him in action in youth tournaments and fixtures.
The teenager was outstanding last December as Bayern’s Under-19s beat Tottenham 3-0 to knock them out of the UEFA Youth League.
He has been capped by USA at all levels up to Under-19s and is regarded as a future Bayern first teamer.
The German giants handed Booth, who turns 19 later this month, a three-year professional contract last summer.
Tottenham are expected to concentrate on signing rising stars and free transfers this summer as the financial chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic leads to a cautious market strategy.
They are renowned for having one of the most successful academies in English and European football.
Talismanic goal machine Harry Kane is the star graduate of their youth set-up, while the likes of Danny Rose and Harry Winks have also established themselves as first team and international stars.
Spurs paid big money for two teenagers last summer, with Ryan Sessegnon joining from Fulham for around £25million and Jack Clarke arriving from Leeds United for an initial £9.5m.
In other Tottenham news, a major Ryan Fraser transfer development revealed as deal all but done.
